Chain Stitch Hemming
HELICE offers chain stitch hemming for denim.
All denim hemming is finished with a UNION SPECIAL 33700E chain stitch machine.
Denim Purchased from HELICE
Chain stitch hemming is free of charge for eligible denim purchased from HELICE.
For online orders, please specify your desired inseam length when placing your order.
The inseam is measured along the inside seam from the crotch seam to the hem. We will finish the denim as closely as possible to your requested measurement.
Please note that slight variations in the finished measurement may occur due to the fabric, construction, and individual characteristics of each garment.
Non-Wash / Raw Denim
We do not offer hemming on Non-Wash (unwashed/raw) denim before its first wash, as the fabric may shrink significantly after washing and drying.
We recommend washing and drying the denim first and having it hemmed after the initial shrinkage has settled.
For Non-Wash denim purchased from HELICE, chain stitch hemming remains free of charge after washing.
After washing and drying your denim, you may bring it directly to our store or contact HELICE Customer Service in advance before sending it to us.
For hemming by mail, customers are responsible for both the shipping cost to HELICE and the return shipping cost.
Please note that HELICE cannot guarantee the amount of shrinkage or changes in measurements caused by washing or drying. Please make sure the initial shrinkage has sufficiently settled before requesting hemming.
Denim Purchased Elsewhere
We also offer chain stitch hemming for denim purchased from other stores.
Hemming Fee: ¥2,200 (tax included) per pair
You may bring your denim directly to our store or contact HELICE Customer Service before sending it to us.
For hemming by mail, customers are responsible for both the shipping cost to HELICE and the return shipping cost.
Depending on the fabric, construction, thickness, or condition of the denim, we may be unable to provide hemming.
We may also decline hemming if we determine that the condition of the fabric or stitching makes it unsuitable for safe alteration.
Returns & Exchanges After Hemming
As hemming is performed according to each customer's requested measurement, items that have been hemmed cannot be canceled, returned, or exchanged for reasons attributable to the customer.
Please carefully check the size and requested inseam measurement before requesting hemming.
Slight variations in the finished measurement may occur due to the fabric, construction, and individual characteristics of each garment.
Shipping
Orders requiring hemming may take longer to ship than standard orders.
Processing times may vary depending on the number of hemming requests we are handling.
International Orders
Free chain stitch hemming is also available for eligible denim purchased from HELICE by international customers.
We do not offer hemming on Non-Wash denim before its first wash.
Hemmed items cannot be canceled, returned, or exchanged for reasons attributable to the customer. Please carefully confirm your size and requested inseam measurement before placing your order.
If you are located outside Japan and would like to send us denim purchased elsewhere, or send back washed Non-Wash denim originally purchased from HELICE for hemming, please contact us in advance regarding shipping and other arrangements.
